Mt Shasta, CA
The design of this contemporary mountain cabin reflects the client’s desire for a simple, single-story rustic cabin for their young and well-travelled family. The cabin will house a master bedroom suite, two spare bedrooms, and a large open living space and kitchen. The home will be well insulated, energy efficient, have high quality and well insulated doors and windows, healthy materials and advanced water and heating systems. The sighting of the house will take full advantage of dramatic views of Mt Shasta and the surrounding dense pine and Douglas fir forests. The project was set for construction in 2012, but the recession and slow recovery in northern California has delayed execution to this point.
