Virginia Farmhouse Remodel/Addition
Served as Staff Architect and Project Manager at Barnes Vanze Architects in Washington D.C. for this historic restoration and addition. This beautifully sited 1850 brick and wood structure had not aged gracefully and with the help of the architect and local architectural historians, the clients pursued a comprehensive restoration of the brick columns and chimney, upgraded the windows, roof, and interiors and added a new 3-story private area of the residence. An engaged-end chimney, slightly proud of the façade was added to the end of the new wing to mirror the existing fireplace.
